What Should You Actually Weigh?
There isn't one magic number. Different formulas give different answers. This calculator shows you 4 trusted formulas so you can see the range. Most people end up somewhere in between.
💡 Real Talk
"Ideal weight" is kinda misleading. A 170 lb muscular person looks totally different from 170 lbs with more body fat. How you feel matters more than the number.
The Formulas
Robinson & Miller (1983): Modern, pretty accurate.
Devine (1974): Originally for drug dosing.
Hamwi (1964): The OG formula. Old but reliable.
⚠️ Don't Freak Out Over 5 Pounds
If you're 5-10 lbs outside the range but feel good and your doctor says you're healthy? You're fine. These don't account for muscle or bone density.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is ideal weight for my height?
There's no single answer—different formulas give different numbers. This calculator shows 4 trusted formulas (Robinson, Miller, Devine, Hamwi) so you see a realistic range. Most people are healthy anywhere within that 5-15 lb range.
Are these formulas accurate?
They're a good estimate for average frames, but don't account for muscle or bone density. A bodybuilder and a sedentary person at the same height will have very different ideal weights. Use this as a guide, not gospel.
What if I'm outside the range?
Being 5-10 lbs outside doesn't mean you're unhealthy. Check with your doctor, how you feel, and your body composition. The scale doesn't tell the whole story—muscle weighs more than fat.
